To further his education in sports medicine, Steve went to Murray State University and worked as a graduate assistant for the football, women’s basketball, and baseball teams while receiving his master’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, with an emphasis in Human Performance. Once he completed his degree, he took the position of head football trainer at Wingate University, where he also taught courses and supervised student athletic trainers. Given an opportunity to move to Charleston, South Carolina, Steve took a job with a physical therapy group before beginning to teach at Trident Technical College in the Massage Therapy program. He took over the program as its coordinator in the fi rst few months. Rewriting the entire curriculum, Steve spent 8 years as the coordinator before stepping down to pursue other opportunities.
